Pear Crumble with Nuts
(2 serves)
100 g cereals 50 g milled hazelnuts 30-40 g butter 1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup) 3 large pears 1 tsp spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg) 1-2 tbsp brown sugar (honey or maple syrup)
Wash and cut pears into slices, sprinkle with spices, add sugar (honey or maple syrup), stir well and set aside.
Grind hazelnuts. There is an important moment – the best way to grind nuts is using an electric coffee grinder making impulsive movements. You must avoid the heating of knives, because in this case the nuts become oily and we will get a paste, but we need just to grind them. By the way, it’s not necessary to grind nuts perfectly. If some large pieces of nuts remain, do not worry. Then melt the butter.Mix cereals and milled hazelnuts in a bowl. Add honey and melted butter. Mix well.
Two baking pans (or 1 large pan) grease with butter slightly and sprinkle with a little bit of melted hazelnuts. Put the pears, sprinkle with crumbs and press them. Preheat oven to 200C and bake crumble for about 20-30 minutes, until crust will be golden brown.
This hot crumble is so good with a scoop of ice cream!
