I’m kind of a quiche-obsessed person. Because I think it’s a very good nourish breakfast, like a breakfast 3-in-1. It’s also such a fun thing to choose pie filling. Fish or meat, or just vegetables… Vegetable pies are my favourites (like Spinach-Feta pie or Quiche Lorraine).
I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t eat meat very often. To be honest, I forgot when I ate red meat the last time. That’s why I’m a huge fish lover!
Yesterday while thinking about what to make for breakfast I decided to make quiche with white fish. I added a bit of asparagus because it’s in season and I always have it in the kitchen.
Strawberry season seems to never end. To be honest I would say that I wanted to make some flourless treats with strawberries, but few days ago I made amazingly crumbly cookies and I decided to mix these two parts. I made crumbly bars with strawberry filling. And yes, it’s absolutely not healthy, but damn they’re so good. I will increase my everyday morning jog, but I won’t give up on these crumble bars!
First week of summer has started and I look forward to how many things I can do with all these seasonal delights. I try to catch every moment to cook something with berries. I like to eat them raw with honey and yoghurt mostly. But you know how heavenly berries smell when are baked? I can’t keep control over myself, honestly! The simplest thing I like to do with seasonal berries is making galettes! Read More
I like to interpret classic recipes into new ways by adding unexpected ingredients or changing type of flour for example. I enjoy those daring experiments. The result surprises me every time, and in most cases I’m satisfied with it. That is when I share my results with you. So thank you for your support and experiments, they inspire me much more. But there are also some classic recipes which I love and respect and I would like them to be in my blog.
Today is my absolutely happy Sunday! We’ve got up very early (if only you knew how I love early mornings!) packed some food into backpacks and will come out soon for the all day long walk in the park.
I really love walking. Yesterday I walked 7 km with my beagle Chantal and today I want more!
Fresh air, blackbird’s singing, Nick’s smile, my dog’s barking, picnic on the grass… these things make me an absolutely happy girl. Nothing is better than to eat some homemade food outdoor. In most cases we take some french and english cheeses, fresh bread or croissants and fruits. Sometimes I make wraps (with green salad, salmon, cucumber and hummus is my favourite) or just sandwiches.
There are not many Sundays when I don’t want to bake anything. On such days I mostly bake brownies. Last Sunday I decided to make something absolutely easy (but not brownies) and use a bit of sweet fresh strawberries which were just bought at the farmer market. I mixed some ingredients and I got my cake. There was an important thing that made my cake so good that I decided to share it with you. It had the crustiest crust ever! Fresh juicy strawberries, sponge yoghurt cake and amazing crust… Read More

Yesterday, when buying products at the store, I saw ugly, very ripe bananas, and decided that I want to bake a banana bread for breakfast! After all, people won’t even consider buying these unsightly bananas, but they don’t know that they’re ideal for baking! Banana bread has an intensive banana-caramel flavour and a perfect crisp!
Well, for those who dislike to wash the dishes same as me, this recipe is like a godsend! Because all you need for baking is one large bowl and a spoon. Enjoy! Read More
These weeks were so cloudy in Kiev. I like such weather but more than it I like to bake something aromatic and eat it with cup of warm tea or coffee (I prefer a few cups of cappuccino, much more than it’s normal). I like savoury pastry and after my good experience with english scones (I shared ones with herbs there) I decided that it would be great to mix some dried tomatoes and feta in scones. This scones are perfect for men’s breakfast with ham for example or cream cheese.
My Nick enjoyed them. Also they would be an excellent addiction to your hot soup! I hope you enjoyed this recipe too! Read More
I adore the pumpkins! This colour, smell, useful properties…this list can be infinite. Some time ago we were gathering pumpkins on the parents’ garden and I’ve decided that it would be a good idea to bake smth new with pumpkin. And so I’ve chosen a classical french brioche. It’s a french pastry, which is often served with some butter and jam for breakfast. And a cup of coffee of course. So I added some pumpkin puree to the classical recipe and got a brioche with amazing yellow colour and very delicate pumpkin flavour! Read More
